Freshwater Bathymetry
The objective is to measure water depth in a river channel using a small UAV equipped with an SDRadar system. The SDRadar is an ultra-wideband (UWB) radar system with a custom in-house antenna design. The transmitted signals are able to penetrate water and detect the riverbed. We successfully demonstrated the system’s ability to detect the riverbed at a depth of 3 meters in water with a conductivity of approximately 112.9 S/cm
